Prototype 5: The One with the Voice Control

The user scenario

Alexandra’s new car has voice control. It is very convenient to operate her navigation system while she is driving. She would like to use the system for her radio as well but sometimes the system misunderstands her or has a very awkward way of pronouncing radio station names. She wants her voice control to work better and smarter, so that she can use it for her radio as well.

With this prototype, we aim to evaluate a recommendation system for radio stations that bases its recommendations on the metadata of the radio station and the programme publicly available. The scope of recommendations includes finding services that are based on the current listening experience.

On Sunday, the 18th of March, the HRADIO project was invited to present its work on the AER special focus workshop “Post convergence radio” at Radiodays Europe. Alexander Erk from IRT gave a general overview of the HRADIO project and focused on the project's work in the generation and evaluation of new hybrid user scenarios.
